CR-B FFA Members Participate in Sub District Contest

On December 18th, 2019, 15 Coon Rapids-Bayard FFA members competed in Sub district FFA contest in Audubon, Iowa.

Laura Anthofer participated in the Creed Speaking Contest which is a contest for freshman members to help them develop leadership and public speaking skills. In this contest Laura was tested on her ability to recite the FFA creed and on her basic knowledge of the creed. Laura received a gold rating and is advancing to the district contests.

Mira Esdohr competed in the Agricultural Broadcasting contest. The goal of this contest is to give participants experience in the field of agricultural broadcast journalism. Mira prepared and presented a five minute agriculture radio broadcast. She received a bronze rating.

Brady Heidercheit, Kadey Olson, Peyton Schultes, Lauren Derner, Harley Sawyer, Brianna Rosonke, and Elia Esdohr participated in the conduct of meetings contest. In this contest they demonstrated their ability to conduct a formal FFA meeting. This team received a bronze rating.

Madison Mohr, Cassidy Baker, and Mia Leighty competed in the Chapter Program of Activities Contest. These members developed a professional presentation which highlights the chapter's accomplishments over the past year. These members received a silver rating and are advancing to the district contest.

Madison Schultes competed in the Job Interview Contest where she was tested on her ability to complete a job application, prepare and resume and cover letter, and interview for a job. Madison received a silver rating.

Jacob Anthofer and Wyatt Wurzer competed in the Welding Skills Contest. Wyatt was tested on his ability to perform various arc welding skills, and Jacob was tested on his ability to perform various oxy-acetylene welding skills. Wyatt received a bronze rating and Jacob received a gold rating. Jacob is advancing to the district contest.  

Congratulations to all of the members for their hard work and accomplishments at the contests. The Southwest District contests will be held March 7th, 2020 in Harlan, Iowa.
