Caterpillars to Butterflies

Second grade has had an exciting beginning of the year! Holli Schoon and her mom brought in a butterfly chrysalis and a caterpillar to share in Mrs. Friedrich's room.
We watched and waited for the butterfly to appear and on Friday, August, 22 the magic happened!
As the second grade was out for recess, a beautiful Monarch butterfly appeared.
We waited awhile and then released it with everyone watching. Then over the weekend the caterpillar formed a chrysalis and we are once again watching and waiting.
