School Improvement Advisory Committee Membership

The Coon Rapids – Bayard Community School District is looking for interested community members who would like to serve on the School Improvement Advisory Committee.   The committee is made up of ten (10) community members, four (4) staff members, three (3) students and all administrators.  The ten community members should include:

  • Six (6) community members with school age children
  • Two (2) community members with preschool age children
  • Two (2) community members with no school age children

The School Improvement Advisory Committee meets once per semester and has the following responsibilities:

  1. Determine major educational needs and rank them in priority order.
  2. Develop long-range goals and plans to meet the prioritized needs.
  3. Formulate and recommend short-range and intermediate-range plans to meet the goals to attain the desired levels of pupil performance.
  4. Evaluate progress toward meeting the goals and maintain a record or progress under the plan that includes reports of pupil performance and results of school improvement projects.
  5. Coordinate special projects.

All School Improvement Advisory Committee recommendations will be presented to the Coon Rapids – Bayard School District Board of Education through the Superintendent of Schools.
