The Reading Challenge for all students Kindergarten - Sixth Grade is "Bank On Books". The reward at the end is also the same. Mr. Stoffers, our principal, has agreed to see if his fitness level can match the reading power of our students.
Begin date: Monday, January 23
End date: Friday, March 4
Robert Deal Elementary Guidelines:
- A "Book Buck" will be placed in a piggy bank displayed in the multipurpose room for each book read.
- Each student can read up to 5 books.
- For every 100 books read, Mr. Stoffers will complete one lap on the high school track.
- Prizes will be awarded to the student after completing each book.
Intermediate Guidelines:
- Students are challenged to read 300 pages or more.
- Book information will be recorded in their "Bank On Books" book.
- For every 10,000 pages read, Mr. Stoffers will complete one lap on the high school track.
- Progress will be recorded on the hallway wall by the Intermediate Commons.
A challenge could go out to classroom teachers or librarians to join Mr. Stoffers, if their class reaches a certain goal!
