Board Goals: 2011-2012
Student Learning:
The Board of Education is dedicated to consistently improving Academic Achievement for all students in all grades.
- To meet this goal, the Board of Education will review the Administration’s comprehensive review of class offerings, particularly CTE class selections, at its February meeting.
- To meet this goal, the Board of Education will review the Administration’s K-12 review of teacher prep and collaborative time at its February meeting.
- To meet this goal, the Board of Education will work with the Administrative Team to develop a Comprehensive Technology Vision and Plan. The Board will review and approve the Vision no later than January with the specific Plan to be presented at the May Board meeting.
- To meet this goal, the Board of Education through its Curriculum Committee, will expand its regular review of the Iowa Assessments to also include Dibels, Math CBM’s, iCams and any other assessment deemed appropriate in conjunction with the Administrative team.
District Finances:
The Board of Education will continue to secure the District’s finances.
- To meet this goal, the Board of Education in collaboration with the Administration will establish a 5 year Financial Plan seeking Professional assistance from ISFIS and IASB to be presented at the March Board meeting.
- To meet this goal, the Board of Education will work with Administration to fully develop a 5 year Repair & Maintenance, Transportation replacement and Technology implementation/replacement schedule for the next 5 years. The Board will review this information at its December meeting.
District Facilities:
The Board of Education will maintain its excellent facilities seeking continued improvement.
- To meet this goal, the Board of Education in collaboration with the Administration team will seek a public renewal of the PPEL levy at an appropriate level in keeping with its Building & Grounds and Transportation Committee recommendations in February.
Leadership:
The Board of Education recognizes the need to continue to build its own understanding of all facets of Academic Achievement, Finance, and Facilities Management.
- To meet this goal, the Board of Education in collaboration with the Administrative team will attend IASB’s Annual Convention as a Board Team.
