State Wrestling: Student Attendance Guidelines

In order to be EXCUSED from school to attend the State Wrestling Tournament, each student must do the following:
1.) Return a completed permission slip to the office window NO LATER THAN Wednesday, February 17 at 8:30AM. Students must complete the attached permission slip, complete with teacher signatures and parental permission.
2.) Advance ticket purchase is required. At the time of sign-up, students must also submit $8 for each day’s admission to the office. This money will pay for the student’s admission to Wells Fargo.
3.) Attending the wrestling tournament is a privilege since the tournament takes place during the normal school day. Therefore, the ONLY way to be excused to attend this event is to ride the school-provided pep bus(es). Because of the 9:00AM start, pep buses will depart the CR-B parking lot at 6:30AM. Students must be on time, as the bus will not wait for late arrivers. Any student signed up to ride the bus but who misses the bus will not be excused from school and shall not receive any refund of ticket money.
NOTE: Students who are not passing classes or who have outstanding detention time will not be excused for this trip.
4.) Students wishing to ride home with a parent, must check out in person with the parent by reporting to Mr. Halstead at the conclusion of the 1A session. Mr. Halstead will be in the vicinity of the northwest entrance doors to Wells Fargo Arena. Checkout will begin at 12:35PM.
5.) Food and beverage purchases are the responsibility of the student. Please bring an adequate sum of money for these items. The pep bus will stop at McDonald’s in Grimes on the return trip home. Food and beverage items at the tournament can be expensive, so students may want to plan to eat during this stop.
6.) Upon arrival at Wells Fargo, you will be given your admission ticket. Please enter the arena promptly and find your seat.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE for BOTH THURSDAY and FRIDAY:
