Dear John J. Schumacher

First off, I would like to thank you for serving our country! I would also like to thank you for coming to our 6th grade class and telling us all about World War II. Everyone in 6th graded loved everything that you told us.
I didn't know much about World War II before you came and now I think I know more than my mom! However, my dad knows a lot more about World War II than most of my family. I asked my family (dad, brother, and grandma) if they've ever heard of General Pat. All of them said yes. I told them that you met him and you talked to him. They all found that very interesting.
I, too, don't think that you should have to have your parent's consent when you get a marriage license.
I think that it would be cool to have an Italian friend. I like the name Duke. My mom named one our puppies Duke. He went to a new home.
I once again would like to thank you for everything you have done. Especially for serving our country!
