7th Grade Field Trip Make Up May 2nd!

The make-up date for the CR-B 7th Grade U.S. History class field trip to the Loess Hills and Council Bluffs, Iowa will be on Friday, May 2nd, 2008.
The trip agenda aligns with our 7th grade curriculum and also will serve as a start to our study of U.S. History for 8th grade.

Strucker Hill in the Loess Hills know as the spot, highest point in the Loess Hills, 1400 feet above sea level southwest of Moorhead, 4 miles (Loess Hills Flora & Fauna)

Murry Hill Scenic Overlook 3.6 miles west of Pisgah (Hiking)

Squirrel Cage Jail – The unique Squirrel Cage jail in Council Bluffs served as the Pottawattamie County Jail from 1885 until 1969. The design and size of the Historic Pottawattamie County Squirrel Cage Jail make it a one-of-a-kind structure. It was one of seventeen revolving jails built.

Western Historic Trails Center Western Historic Trails Center Council Bluffs. Our 7th graders will receive an orientation for trips following the Lewis and Clark Trail, for trips west following the routes of the Oregon, Mormon, and California Trails.

Lewis and Clark Monument – This monument, north of Big Lake Park, honors the expedition of Lewis & Clark in 1804 and their historic meeting with the Otoe and Missouria Indians.
We will depart Coon Rapids at 8:00 am and will arrive back in Coon Rapids at 5:30 p.m. Please pick up your child at the CR-B 4-12 attendance center at 5:30.
Your son/daughter will need to bring a sack lunch and snacks for the day. A small cooler can be brought on the bus!
