Logan Kelly Named Iowa Geographic Bee Semifinalist by National Geography Society

Grader Logan,
son
of Clarissa Kelly,has
been notified by the National Geographic Society
that he is one of the finalists eligible to compete in the 2008
Iowa Geographic Bee. Bees were held in schools with
fourth-through eighth-grade students throughout the state to
determine each school’s Geographic Bee winner. School-level
winners then took a qualifying test, which they submitted to the
National Geography Society. The highest scores in the state
of Iowa, then earn a trip to state!
The
2008 Iowa Geographic Bee will be held at Drake University on
Friday, April 4th, 2008.
The
state winner will receive $100 and the trip to Washington,
D.C. The national winner will receive a $25,000 college
scholarship. The
state winner will go on to represent Iowa in the national finals at
the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington,
D.C.
